An overview of TDV Graphic Design course
Visual communication is the most effective form of communication and has a wide appeal and outreach owing to the engaging nature of its manifestation. Graphic Design is a very powerful medium that evokes sentiments, brings about social change, influences minds and attitudes. Hence a graphic designer needs to be well rounded, aware, compassionate and courageous.
The Graphic Design Programme at TDV helps students center themselves, develop attitudes and positions in regards to situations and contexts. The scope of a Graphic Designer extends much beyond creating pretty pictures, to making impact and changing lives.
Areas of Focus
Materials and Mediums–Multiple modes and formats of representation, use of appropriate tools and technology.
Visual culture and semiotics – cultural anthropology, expression of culture through visual media and psychological perspectives.
Typography, Animation, Publication and Web technologies – develop necessary skills to create impactful visual communication. Various hand skills and software skills are imparted through integrating with other discipline specific courses.
4 years / 8 semesters
Candidates are chosen on the basis of a written entrance examination, a situation test and a group discussion or personal interview round conducted by TDV.
Students are also encouraged to share their design portfolios at the time of the interview.
